Melissa Doerken founded MelaMelo to share her passion for simplicity, elegance, and beauty and to create spaces that support and facilitate her clients' best life.
Our interior spaces provide the setting, infrastructure, and foundation for so many of our activities, thoughts, and feelings that we must curate them with great intention and care. Too often, however, we overlook them to our own detriment.
Because our physical and visual environments shape the way we think, feel, and behave, Melissa develops spaces to support her clients optimal way of life. MelaMelo offers space curation and design for mindful living, optimal energy flow, wellbeing, and functionality using principles of Minimalism, the KonMari Method, Mindfulness, Feng Shui, and Sustainability, and is rooted in local artists, makers, craftspeople, and nature.
Melissa graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Yale University with an honors degree in the History of Art and has studied Interior Architecture and Design at UC Berkeley. She is also studying to become a certified Feng Shui consultant. Melissa is a Fulbright scholar and helped run a cultural lifestyle firm in Rome, Italy before returning to the States where she has worked in New York and San Francisco, dedicating nearly the past decade to designing products in the digital space. She has returned to her love of the physical analog with MelaMelo.
